Our Baby Girl's Nursery

Now that my baby girl is a big 2 year old (and she'll be 3 in the fall! Ahh!!), it seems like so long ago that we were planning and setting up her nursery.

I see pregnant women everywhere and thought it would be really fun to do a series on baby rooms, especially since I haven't written a full post on either of my babies' nurseries.

So here is my first nursery post!

Leah's nursery: the first baby room I ever got to design and prepare.

I found her bedding at Pottery Barn and thought it was just the sweetest! We then decided on pink and green for the colours, with a bird theme.

Since Pottery barn is a little pricey, we decided to just buy the quilt and crib sheet (we actually had a bird fitted sheet but our spare was on the crib in these photos) rather than the whole set. I bought the crib skirt on amazon for a great deal.

When we first painted, we worried that the colour was a little too light green, but it got less neon-y looking as we added everything else to the room.

The wall decal was from a Canadian company I found on etsy. It was PERFECT! I often wondered if we should've made the tree a lighter colour, but looking back I think it looks great.

The furniture was from Sears and my parents bought us the crib.

I went with white furniture because I love the look of white and thought it went well with the bedding.

The letters were from Michaels. I had originally intended to cover the letters (something like this), but ended up loving the look of the plain white with the furniture.

The change pad cover was from Snuggle Bugz, and I found the "You are my Sunshine" print at Home Sense, as well as the bins for the change table and a bird pillow for the glider.

The shelf was from Ikea and the print stats print I made... tutorial to come!

The pink chair was a second hand find from a Facebook mommies buy and sell group that I found after Leah was born.

We had to move the change table away from the crib as Leah got mobile and she got into her diapers! She was a LONG time getting mobile though, so we had a while with the room like this :)

The owl bookends were from Pottery Barn as well.

We actually don't live in this house anymore and Leah has been upgraded to a big girl room, but I loved this room so much and miss it dearly!

What do you think?
Did or do you have a theme for your child's nursery?

  6. What a cute room! I love the green color with pops of pink. Do you remember what the color was called? I've been wanting to do a room in that kind of green, if I can get up the nerve. :)

  9. I love the shelf opposite the decals, really balances the room and gives you a high place for safe storage away from small hands.
