Prayers for Your Children { A Family Christian Review + GIVEAWAY }

I am a Family Christian Blogger. I received an advanced copy of Prayers for Your Children for my review. All thoughts and opinions are my own. This post contains affiliate links

As a Christian teacher and mother, praying for children has been an integral part of my day for many years.

However, life gets busy and sometimes these prayers get cut short, or even run into each other, and I end up praying the same things over and over. I find myself thanking God for my children and asking Him to watch over them - which is great - but I'd like to be more intentional.

As such, I was thrilled to get my hands on an advanced copy of the book Prayers for Your Children!

The cover says it includes "90 Days of Heartfelt Prayers," and that really is the case!

The author, James Banks, is a father who really understands the things that parents care about and want for their children. It's easy to connect with the prayers and be really sincere when going through  the book and praying these. The prayers are intended for children of all ages, and I truly felt like some were written especially for my Leah or Samuel.

The book is divided into 13 weeks and each one has a theme - such as Knowing, Growing, Walking and Loving - and little introduction. Some weeks are based around a specific verse or passage (the "walking" week is on Psalm 23; love it!) and others use selected verses.

Every day's prayer is full of scriptural references, and they're not just thrown in there. Each verse has been perfectly placed and adds so much. I really feel as though I'm connecting to the word and breathing His voice into my prayers as I pray them.

Each prayer is intended to point children towards Jesus and what He alone can give them.

Lately my husband and I have been really focused on praying with our children, but it's so important to pray for them too!

This book is great for anyone with children in their lives and I'm really enjoying going through this book on my own and as a couple. Not only has it improved the quality of our prayers, it's something nice that we can do together at the end of the day.

The publisher is Discovery House, and the anticipated release is March 2014. Pre-order here!

At $12.99, the price is pretty reasonable,
