Samuel Paul

There have been so many things I've wanted to blog about since my last post, but pregnancy was really hard on me and it just didn't happen. We're getting into more of a routine as a family of four now, and I'm tired but feeling great so going to be playing a bit of catch up.

First of all, my beautiful boy is here!

I did it!

He came a week early on Friday September 26th. I had a fairly short and easy labour, and he was born at home! I had wanted a home birth but didn't tell too many people about it just in case. With Leah I was begging for the epidural as soon as my water broke and contractions started, so I wanted to leave my options open. Thankfully I didn't need it and was able to stay at home.

We had a bit of excitement near the end and Samuel unfortunately had to be transferred to hospital, but it was precautionary and he's a perfectly healthy boy!

Joel was amazing and it was a great birth. One cool thing about a home birth is that when you register for your child's birth certificate the place of birth is listed as your home address. So forever it's recorded that he was born here! Pretty unique.

Samuel is now 3 months old and is the perfect addition to our family. He had a bit of colic at first but is now super smiley and happy. Leah is so great with him and I love seeing their bond!
