Wedding Details

I thought it would be nice to blog about all of the little details from our wedding, and give a shout out to some of our vendors as well. So here it is!

The Registries:
We registered at Delacourt's, and Home Outfitters as well.
On the weekend of our wedding, Delacourt's gave us a shout out in their window! It was pretty cool!

The Hair and Makeup:
The bridesmaids, my Mom and I got our hair done at NeoCentrix. The power went out halfway through the appointment (there was a major storm!), but my Dad hooked up an extension cord to his car and we were all able get our hair done! Also, Colleen, Jenna and I had our makeup done by the emergency lights alone! What an experience.

The Attire:

My dress was an Oleg Cassini, style # CWG322. I bought it from David's Bridal in Mississauga. It came strapless, but I had straps put on. I wore the straps for most of the day until I had a wardrobe malfunction that forced me to wear it without straps... but it looked great both ways!
It was the second dress I bought... but that's another story altogether!

Thanks Nicole for the photo!

The bridesmaids dresses were Alexia Designs #4004 in eggplant, and they came from The Perfect Dress. Both mothers also purchased their dressed there as well.

I'm not sure of the style of flower girls dresses but they are actually from Bell'Occhio, a gift and specialty children's clothing store. We replaced the peach-coloured flowers with lime green ones from Ardene to match a little better.

The little girls' headpieces came from David's Bridal too.

The tuxes are from Moores. I was a little nervous about the dressed and vests matching, but they worked out great!

Oh, and the shoes! They are Forbes Style from Nina Shoes in silver. I had the same ones in ivory.

The Flowers:

Our flowers were done by Darryl from Flower Creations.

The bouquets were PERFECT! They were light and dark pink and green, and exactly how I imagined them. My bouquet had roses and peonies, and little pink jewels as well. He also did the centre pieces, vases full of pink peonies

The walk down the Aisle:

The bridesmaids and flower girls walked down the aisle to Enya's "Only Time," and my Dad and I walked to Pachelbel's Canon in D.

The church:
We were married at Hillcrest United Church, by Rev. Ken Jackson. Along with my grandfather, he baptized me as a baby.

The Signing of the Registry:
Our friend Victoria provided some wonderful music for the signing. She played and sang "Songbird," and it was very beautiful! Thank you Victoria!

The Photos:

The weather cleared up in the afternoon, and we were able to take our photos at Piper's Heath Golf Course. It is a BEAUTIFUL course with a historic barn, pond, and 400-year-old tree on site.

The Venue:

Our reception was held at Teatro Event and Conference Centre. It was beautiful and they took care of everything!

Thanks Katie for the photo!

The first dance:
Along with our parents and bridal party, we entered the reception to the song "I gotta feeling" by the Black Eyed Peas. Joel and I then went immediately into our first dance, to Elvis' "Can't help falling in love."

The candy bar:
This was my Mom's baby. It was something we had seen in a magazine, and she did a fantastic job of putting it all together!

The Master of Ceremonies:
Our friend Eddie took on this role, and did a great job! Thanks Eddie!

The Blessing:
My Grandfather, Thomas Page, gave the blessing before dinner. It was very special.

On the tables:
There were a few things on the tables.

The centre pieces, as mentioned, were pink peonies and they were so beautiful!

Because Teatro means theatre - and has a movie star theme - we decided to decorate the tables each with a movie star (some older, some more recent) and put trivia on the back of each one. They were a lot of work but I like how they turned out!

Thanks Nicole!

We also made a place card for each guest, and gave away seed packets (or "Love Blossoms") with our names and wedding day on them as favours. We got them online from

We also got super cute cherry blossom disposable cameras from Wedding Star, which were on each table for guests to take photos with. (You can kind of see one in the above photo).

Thanks again Katie!

Our Guest Book:
We decided to go with a non-traditional guest book, and had guests sign four picture frames, that we will later put wedding photos into.

We received some really sweet well wishes, and some quite humourous ones as well!

The cake and topper:

Our cake was actually fake, provided by the venue!

We thought it was a little plain though, so we decorated it with some petals from Michael's. The cake topper was also from Wedding Star.

It was a lot of work to plan our wedding, but it really was worth it. It was a wonderful day!
