My Cup Overflows

On June 4th 2011, Joel and I became one. He is - as I knew he would be - a phenomenal husband. He is so wonderful and I am so thankful that God chose him for me.

Getting married was the most surreal and yet incredible experience ever. I was nervous, but once I saw Joel I couldn't stop smiling. It was such a happy day.

There were some setbacks (as in a giant thunderstorm that morning), but everything really was perfect. It was so great to see so many of our family and friends who were there to encourage and support us.

In the moment that we walked up the aisle together, I could not have been happier! After the ceremony, our family and friends all gathered around us to hug and congratulate us. It was so nice, and I even got to share in our special day with some of my students!

We are currently living in a basement apartment until our house is complete. Our closing date was supposed to be September 7th, but we discovered that we were able to request to have it completed sooner, so we went for it! Our appeal to have our house close two weeks early is in, and we should hear back shortly.

Now for the reason we need to close early... September 7th is the second day of school... and I will FOR SURE be teaching that day!

I had known for a while that there may be a position opening, but was under the impression that it would either be teaching grade 7 part-time or being a part-time librarian. I would have been thankful for either, but I don't have my intermediate or librarian qualifications, so the possibility of either of these actually happening looked grim.

However, in a wonderful turn of events (and some major shuffling within the school) I have been offered a position teaching grade 4 once again for next year.

The school year ended last Friday, a bittersweet day. It was so hard to say good-bye, but it is so wonderful to know that I will be around to see them enter and leave grade 5, even though I will no longer be their teacher.

Yesterday, as I was cleaning up my classroom, I learned that I will be switching classrooms over the summer. Normally this would be something to be upset about, but I am currently teaching in a portable, and am being moved inside the school!

This is BIG.

Things will be so much easier, and I am so thankful.

God really is faithful, and I pray that He will continue to bless Joel and I with the desires of our hearts.
