Who is Testing Whom?

This morning, Pastor Brian gave a great sermon entitled "Who is Testing Whom."

He is guiding our church through the Exodus and I really enjoyed today's message.

He spoke about how and why God tests us, and that how we respond to this is very important. All Christians are, and will be, tested by God.

While Moses was leading the Israelites out of Egypt, he was testing them. Were they obedient?

Yes and no. When there was no water, they questioned God. They complained to Moses, asking why. Instead of accepting the fact that they were being tested and trusting in God to provide, they chose to test God.

If we complain, we are testing God. If we quarrel with others, we are testing God. If we are disobedient in any way, we are testing God. It's easy to be a Christian when all is well. The real challenge is to continue to trust God and keep your faith in Him when life is tough.

Right now, I am struggling with the fact that there may not be a full-time job for me at my current school next year. This is tough to swallow, because I love my job, and can't imagine teaching anywhere else.

God remained true to His promise and eventually did deliver the Israelites from slavery. Yes, it took a long time, but they made it!

I know that God will continue to test me, but I will continue to have faith in him. God IS faithful.
