Decisions, Decisions...

One of the most amazing things about purchasing a new home is - outside of getting a brand new house - you get to choose almost everything: cabinets, countertops, flooring.... EVERYTHING!

However, as Joel and I have been finding out, this can be very overwhelming.

A possible countertop selection
Dark or light kitchen countertops? Carpet or hardwood? And the list goes on...

We need to make decisions both large and small, right up to which type of knobs we would like on our cabinets.

EEK! What if we make the wrong choices? What if we don't like it? What if no one else wants to buy our house down the road?

And of course... what if I like something that Joel doesn't?

Not to mention wedding decisions! The major ones have been made already, but right now I am really struggling with flowers... real or fake? Both have their benefits!

When we first got engaged, the piece of advice that I received the most often was: "Don't let anyone else tell you what to do, it's YOUR wedding."

At first I was thinking, well isn't that kind of obvious?

Since then, my attitude has changed! Planning a wedding is difficult. There are a lot of decisions to be made and a lot of people who are willing to help, and offer their opinions. This is AWESOME, but the more (sometimes conflicting) opinions we get, the more confused I get!

Of course, I know everything will work out. It always does! After all, these are not really life-changing decisions! I think our house will be amazing no matter what colour our kitchen cabinets are.

Overall... I think Joel and I need to trust our instincts - and each other - and everything will be just fine :)
